Challenge
The customer’s driveway had multiple cracks and a few areas that had dropped. One area that was the main concern for the family was where the driveway had dropped 5 inches right in front of their carport. The wife had a lower car that the husband was concerned that eventually would end up getting damaged from this transition. Both homeowners were wanting to get this problem repaired to prevent damaged to their vehicles or from the problem getting any worse. There was a large void under this area that could be seen from the side of the driveway due to erosion. They had their daughter’s wedding coming up, so they didn’t want to spend the money to repair the entire driveway.
Solution
The homeowners chose to call APS because they had seen our advertising plus heard others talk about our services. I arrived and had Mr. show me the areas of concern. I measured all the concrete and purposed two different options. Knowing that they had their daughter’s wedding coming up, I created one option for the lower half of the driveway. This was the major concern for Mr. when he walked me around originally even though he knew the whole driveway had issues. I then made option two to repair the entire driveway to show a total fix. Both homeowners decided to go with option one where they could get their main reason for calling repaired with not getting into the wedding funds. Mr. said that he would defiantly give me a call in a few months and get the top half repaired. The challenge the crew had during the installation of the PolyLevel was trying to get the driveway to match the sidewalk. The sidewalk had been created using bricks after the driveway was originally poured. The crew was trying to get the driveway to match up to the sidewalk, but the sidewalk had been installed higher than driveway to begin with. The crew installed Polylevel foam under the entire lower half of the driveway and used NexusPro to repair all the cracks and joints. The lower half of driveway was able to be lifted back to its original height and all joints and cracks were sealed in that area. We were able to eliminate the transition from the driveway to the carports plus fill all the voids. We were able to repair exactly what the homeowner needed repaired. I look forward to helping repair the other half of the driveway as soon as they are ready plus anything else they may need.
