crack in a concrete driveaway

Basement Floor Cracks Allow Water To Enter

Cracks in your basement floor can be more than just a cosmetic issue; they can be a gateway for water to flood into your home. This not only damages the structure but also creates an uncomfortable and potentially hazardous living environment.

Our Three-Step Repair Solution

Leaky floor cracks in your basement can lead to significant water damage if not addressed properly. At APS, we have developed a comprehensive three-step process to tackle this issue efficiently, ensuring your basement stays dry and secure.

Step 1: Install a Perimeter Drainage System

Our first step involves installing a perimeter drainage system

This solution intercepts water before it can reach the floor crack, providing a proactive method to keep your basement dry. By capturing water at its source, this system prevents it from causing any further damage to your home.

Step 2: Add a Drainage Channel

In cases where direct drainage is necessary, we create a drainage channel. We remove a section of the basement floor and run a line of PVC pipe underneath, leading directly to your sump pump. This channel ensures that any water entering the drain is naturally directed to the sump pump, effectively eliminating any risk of flooding through floor cracks.

Step 3: Restore the Floor

After installing the drainage system, we backfill the area with stone and cover it with fresh concrete. This final step not only restores the appearance of your basement floor but also ensures its durability. Allow three days for the concrete to cure properly before walking on it or reapplying weight to the surface.
