The WaterGuard® Below-Floor French Drain System

French Drain System

A Subtle, Below-Floor Drain System That Includes a Lifetime Written Warranty!

Basement flooding and moisture issues are common problems that can cause lasting damage to a home’s foundation and create unhealthy conditions due to mold and mildew growth. The Below-Floor Drain system from Alabama Professional Services (APS) offers an efficient and durable solution for managing water intrusion in basements. Designed to work seamlessly with other waterproofing components, this system provides a proactive approach to basement protection by capturing water at the point of entry and channeling it out of the home.

French Drain System

How It Works

The Below-Floor Drain system is installed along the perimeter of the basement, beneath the floor slab, to capture water that infiltrates through foundation walls or up from the ground. The installation process involves the following steps:

Excavation: A narrow trench is dug around the edge of the basement floor. This slight excavation allows the drainage system to be positioned directly where water typically collects.

Drain Placement: The Below-Floor Drain system is positioned in the trench, ensuring it lies below the floor slab to intercept water efficiently.

Water Collection and Channeling: As groundwater seeps through walls or rises from below, the water flows into the drainage channel. The drain collects this water and directs it to a designated sump pump.

Water Removal: The sump pump then expels the collected water outside the home, preventing accumulation in the basement and keeping the space dry.

This below-floor design makes it highly effective in handling groundwater infiltration and managing moisture, even during heavy rain or in areas with high water tables.

Applications & Benefits

The Below-Floor Drain system is ideal for basements with ongoing moisture issues, water seepage through walls or floors, or in regions prone to high rainfall and groundwater pressure. Key benefits of this system include:

By choosing APS’s Below-Floor Drain system, homeowners can prevent water damage, safeguard the structural integrity of their foundation, and maintain a healthier indoor environment. This solution is particularly valuable for homes with persistent moisture issues, ensuring peace of mind and a dry, usable basement.
